Press Release, Dec. 14, 2010 - IMCA NATIONAL CHAMPION to run the Canyon Speedway Park 2010 Winter Challenge Series. A division-best 28 feature wins and bonus points from three local track titles paved the way for Dylan Smith's first national IMCA Modified championship in 2009.

The Osceola, Neb., driver edged Garner, Iowa's Jeremy Mills by five points to win this years title. Smith's banner season also included a modified division championship in the IMCA ButlerBuilt Central Region alongside three track crowns at Boone County Raceway, I-80 Speedway and US 30 Speedway.

Each of the eight Winter Series Modified features will pay $1,000 to win, a minimum of $100 to start and are qualifying events for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. The Modified series champion also becomes vote eligible. IMCA national, ButlerBuilt Western Region, Smiley’s Racing Products Arizona State and special series points are at stake each night for the Modifieds.

Race dates are Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 23-24; Saturday, Jan. 30; Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 6-7; Saturday, Feb. 13; and Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 20-21. Friday night practice sessions are planned Jan. 22, Feb. 5 and Feb. 19.

The grandstand seating will open at 10 a.m. each day. Hot laps are at noon and racing starts at 1 p.m. Entry fee for Modifieds is $50. Pit passes are $30 and grandstand admission is $15 for adults and $13 for seniors and military. Kids 12 and under get in free!

CANYON SPEEDWAY PARK/WWMT VEGAS CHALLENGE 2010

Canyon Speedway Park and the WWMT have teamed up to make the Winter Series a bit more exciting for the drivers.

2010 CSP/WWMT Vegas Challenge will be ran in conjunction with the 8 race winter series.

Drivers must register for the vegas challenge prior to their first winter series race. a $25 registration fee and $5 per race charge will make a driver eligible for the Challenge.

Total fee $65

The top two in combined IMCA points over the 8 race series will run in the 2010 WWMT Showdown in Vegas during the duel in the desert note we will run 22 cars for the 2010 race.

Canyon Speedway Park Peoria, AZ December 28, 2009 --- Another top modified driver commits to Canyon’s 2010 Winter Challenge Series. Justin Yeager (Green River, WY) and his Yeager’s Auto Body, JR Motorsports, Larry Shaw Racing number “33y” started off his 2009 season by topping the point standings in Death Valley Raceways “Best of the West Series”. Yeager then ended his season as the champion of the Wild West Modified Tour northern points standings and Yeager also added on the IMCA Modified ButlerBuilt Western Region Point Championship to his credentials this past season. He found himself seventh place in the 2009 IMCA national point standings and seventh in the Modified Wyoming state point standings.

Yeager’s family along with his three-man pit crew won 14 modified features in 2009 and the team makes their return to Canyon after a six-year hiatus from the desert oval.
