VINTON, Iowa (Jan. 21) – Mark Allison and Lance Mari are the newest IMCA Modified drivers to race their way onto the ballot for the 2009 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational.
Allison bested the first night event in Mohave Valley Raceway’s Winter Days of Thunder Series. Mari won both features during the season-opening weekend at Imperial Valley Speedway.
Four other drivers who were already on the ballot have also scored feature wins in qualifying events this month. Justen Yeager and Robert Miller paced Best of the Best Wild West Showdown events at Death Valley Raceway, Benji LaCrosse topped the Ice Bowl at Talladega Short Track and Alex Stanford took the checkers in the second series show at Mohave Valley.
All-Star candidates now number 72 and also include:
Chris Alcorn, Ricky Alvarado, Ward Amberson, Hank Berry, Monte Bolton, Matt Brack, Will Brack, Randy Brown, Jerry Broyles, Tyler Cale and Nate Caruth;
