WILD WEST MODIFIED TOUR Weekend Preview
Desert Thunder Raceway in Price, Utah
WHAT? The 2011 EQ IMCA Wild West Modified Tour will now be heading to the Desert Thunder Raceway in Price, Utah after being rained-out for the first time since the tour has started (2007). Porter Smith of Aztec, New Mexico will lead the points heading into the May 20th & 21st weekend.
Last year, Zane DeVilbiss of Farmington, New Mexico showed everyone how it was done by winning both Friday and Saturday night. DeVilbiss raced to a second place finish in the opener at Aztec. Can DeVilbiss continue his streak at Desert Thunder? Or will someone else spoil it?
Last race, The season opener at Aztec Speedway in Aztec, New Mexico seen a first time WWMT feature winner. Porter Smith of Aztec, New Mexico took home his first WWMT win. He beat DeVilbiss, Danny Bradford, Yeager, and Aaron Spangler to the line.
Also, Mother Nature took her first win on Saturday. It took 59 WWMT races for her to take the victory.
Will there be another first time WWMT feature winner? 3 of the 6 WWMT winners at Price went to victory lane for the first time in their WWMT career. Aaron Spangler of Dove Creek, Colorado in 2007, Derek Kopp of Montrose, Colorado in 2008, and Colten Vanderherp of Ferron, Utah in 2009.
All the questions will be answered May 20th and 21st at the Desert Thunder Raceway in Price, Utah.
