WILD WEST MODIFIED TOUR Weekend Preview
Battle Mountain Raceway in Battle Mountain, Nevada
WHAT? The 2011 EQ IMCA Wild West Modified Tour will now head to Northern Nevada to the Battle Mountain Raceway in Battle Mountain, Nevada. The race will be in conjunction with the Evenson Law Office Iron Man Challenge Series. It will be race number seven and eight for the IMCS.
The WWMT will be making history once again this season as the races in Battle Mountain will be the tours first mid-week scheduled races, which will be held on a Wednesday and a Thursday.
Justen Yeager of Green River, Wyoming will lead the points going into the weekend. Zane DeVilbiss is 19 points out of the lead.
Last year, Ryan Cotrell of Las Vegas, Nevada and Cory Sample of Winnemucca, Nevada scored their first career EQ IMCA Wild West Modified Tour feature wins during the stop in Battle Mountain in 2010. Will there be another first time winner at Battle Mountain?
Last race, Travis Metz of Blackfoot, Idaho picked up his fourth career EQ IMCA Wild West Modified victory and Michael Hale of West Valley City, Utah picked up his first career win at the re-scheduled event on Memorial Weekend at the Desert Thunder Raceway in Price, Utah.
Other winners at the Battle Mountain Raceway in Battle Mountain, Nevada during EQ Wild West Modified Tour action are Justen Yeager of Green River, Wyoming who swept the races in 2009 and Ricky Alvarado of Delta, Colorado picked up the inaugural win in 2008 during the Nevada Swing.
2 out of the 3 feature races in 2011 have been won by a first time winner in the EQ IMCA Wild West Modified Tour. Will this streak continue?
