WILD WEST MODIFIED TOUR Weekend Preview
Sweetwater Speedway in Rock Springs, Wyoming
WHAT? The 2011 EQ IMCA Wild West Modified Tour will now head to the Cowboy State for race number six and seven of the 2011 season at the Sweetwater Speedway in Rock Springs, Wyoming.
So far this season, five different drivers have been to victory lane out of the five races ran. Two of them scored their first wins in their career this season. Porter Smith at Aztec and Michael Hale in Price.
Justen Yeager of Green River, Wyoming will lead the points going into the weekend. 2011 Evenson Law Office Iron Man Challenge Series Champion, Zane DeVilbiss is 20 points out of the lead.
Last year, Ryan Cotrell of Las Vegas, Nevada swept the races in Rock Springs at the Sweetwater Speedway in dominating fashion.
Last race, Zane DeVilbiss of Farmington, New Mexico and Cory Sample of Winnemucca, Nevada took home the top prize in Battle Mountain, Nevada at the Battle Mountain Raceway during the first ever mid-week races for the EQ IMCA Wild West Modified Tour on Wednesday and Thursday June 15 & 16.
Other winners at the Sweetwater Speedway in Rock Springs, Wyoming during EQ Wild West Modified Tour action are Ricky Alvarado, Justen Yeager, and Matt Brack have wins at the speed-plant.
Rock Springs is one of the two stops for the WWMT that Zane DeVilbiss has yet to score a victory at. Will this be the year? Also, Justen Yeager has yet to visit victory lane in 2011 but has been really consistent. Can Yeager bring home the win at his home track?
