WILD WEST MODIFIED TOUR Weekend Preview
Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada
WHAT? One of the most exciting races in the EQ IMCA Wild West Modified Tour is next and it is in the most exciting city on earth, Las Vegas, Nevada
During the 14th annual IMCA Duel in the Desert special, there will be a special race for the WWMT. The Top 20 Showdown. The top twenty in 2011 EQ IMCA Wild West Modified Tour points are invited to the twenty lap shootout on Saturday night during the Duel.
All year, drivers in the WWMT raced their tails off just to be in this special event.
In the race includes, 2008 WWMT Top 20 Showdown winner and the 2009 & 2011 WWMT Champion, Justen Yeager of Green River, Wyoming. Yeager won the race in 2008 and is one of the favorites to win it in 2011.
2010 IMCA National & WWMT Champion, Zane DeVilbiss of Farmington, New Mexico is also in the race. He has yet to win this race in his career, is 2011 the year?
Other drivers such as Chase Hansen, Wade Taylor, Brian Ungaro, Rick Spangler, Michael Hale, Travis Metz, Don Baisch, Mickey Stubbings, Cory Sample, & Richard Anderson all have multiple starts but have yet to visit victory lane.
Ryan Cotrell of Las Vegas, Nevada will be the 21st starter by qualifying for the race back in June as he finished runner-up in the 2011 Evenson Law Office IMCA Iron Man Challenge Series.
Making first appearances in 2011 are Bert Beech, Casey Delp, Dustin Hansen, Austin Black, Chris Clark, Craig Teter, Bryan Wordelman & Kelly Smith.
Jeep Berry of Grand Junction, Colorado won the race in 2007 and Ricky Alvarado of Delta, Colorado won the race in 2009 & 2010.
Who will bring home the trophy in 2011? a former winner? Or will there be a first time winner of the event?
21 drivers, 20 laps, and no points on the line.
WHEN? Saturday, November 12 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada during the Duel in the Desert. Pit Gates Open at noon and Racing Starts at 5pm
WHERE? Just a few miles north of The Strip, Las Vegas Motor Speedway sits like a diamond in the desert. For race fans, it is one of the most exciting stops on the schedule. Needless to say, there is plenty in Vegas to fill up your weekend.

Follow I-15 North to Exit 54 (Speedway Blvd.). Speedway is about 12 miles north of downtown Las Vegas.
Alternate route is Las Vegas Boulevard North.
