AUGUST 24-25 TWINBILL NEXT FOR EQ CYLINDER HEADS WILD WEST TOUR!
ATOMIC CITY, Idaho (Aug. 20) – Justen Yeager wrapped up his EQ Cylinder Heads Wild West Tour championship campaign with a doubleheader sweep at Atomic Motor Raceway last season.
Similar results from this weekend’s IMCA Modified tour twinbill at Atomic City will go a long way toward another title.
Yeager has a 34-point advantage over Zane DeVilbiss heading into Friday and Saturday, Aug. 24 and 25 shows. Both features pay $1,000 to win and are qualifying events for the 2013 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.
IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Larry Shaw Racing Western Region, Allstar Performance State and local track, as well as special series points, will be awarded.
Pit gates open at 2 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 3 p.m. both days. Hot laps are at 5 p.m. and racing starts at 6 p.m.
Yeager, also the 2009 series champion, and 2007 and 2008 series king Ricky Alvarado each own three career EQ WWMT victories at Atomic. 2010 champion DeVilbiss has won twice there, Travis Metz and Ryan Cotrell once each.
The sixth annual series concludes with another doubleheader on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 28 and 29 at Desert Thunder Raceway in Price, Utah.
