FIFTH ANNUAL WWMT ALL-STAR RACE AT MILLARD COUNTY RACEWAY IS SET!
DELTA, Utah (February 17, 2013)- The fifth running of the Wild West Modified Tour's special race at the end of the season, the All-Star Race, is set to be at the Millard County Raceway in Delta, Utah for the second season in a row.
The WWMT All-Star Race will be on Friday and Saturday, October 4th and 5th with a Qualifying Feature on Friday for those that have to race their way into the 50 lap race on Saturday.
Drivers that have won the WWMT Championship, the WWMT All-Star Race, the WWMT Top 20 Showdown, & the Iron Man Challenge Series Championship are locked into the 50 lap WWMT All-Star Race on Saturday, October 5th.
Also locked in, will be the 2013 WWMT Champion, 2013 Iron Man Challenge Series Champion, 2013 IMCA Millard County Raceway Track Champion, 2013 WWMT Feature Winners, 2013 WWMT Rookie of the Year, & the 2013 WWMT All-Star Race Fan Vote Winner.
Drivers that are not locked in will have to run the Qualifying Feature on Friday. The race will be lined up by 2013 EQ IMCA Wild West Modified Tour final points. Drivers that are not registered with the series will have to start in the back of the Qualifying Feature. They will line up by pill draw.
The drivers that qualify out of the 25 lap Qualifying Feature will start behind the drivers that are locked into the 50 lap WWMT All-Star Race. The drivers that are locked into the race will run a Pole Dash on Friday to decide their starting positions on Saturday.
There will also be a separate IMCA Modified feature on Friday as well.
On Saturday, the drivers that are in the WWMT All-Star Race will have two hot lap sessions then they will run the 50 lap feature later that evening. The feature will have two 25 lap segments. After the first segment, the field will stop on the front stretch for fuel and a number will be drawn for how many cars will be inverted for the final 25 lap segment.
Voting for the driver to be in the WWMT All-Star Race will begin July 8, 2013 and the ballot will be closed on August 8, 2013. Details on how to vote and who will be eligible will be released soon.
Purse payout will be announced as soon as details come in. Also, the series is looking for a title sponsor for the event. Last season, the series gave out awards for the Hard Charger, Hard Luck, and gave contingency prizes to drivers in random drawn positions. The same will happen this season.
Former winners of the event include Chase Hansen (2012), Zane DeVilbiss (2011), Justen Yeager (2010), and Travis Metz (2009). Former winners of the Qualifying Feature are Bert Beech (2012), Wade Taylor (2011), Chase Hansen (2010), and Mickey Stubbings (2009)
There will also be a Golf Tournament in Delta on Saturday morning. Team Hale won the event last season.
