MOHAVE VALLEY, Ariz. – Round three of the Rotating Right Wild West Southern Tour takes IMCA Modified drivers to Mohave Valley Raceway for a Friday and Saturday, April 17-18 doubleheader. Gates to the pit are open at 4 p.m. both days. The grandstand opens and drivers’ meeting begins at 6 p.m., hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. All series events with 40 or more entries pay $1,000 to win and are qualifying events for the 2009 or 2010 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Events with fewer than 40 entries pay $750 to win. The series champion also becomes vote eligible for the 2010 race. IMCA national, ButlerBuilt Western Region and Smiley’s Racing Products State points, as well as special series points will be awarded for both shows at Mohave Valley. Pit passes will be $30 for one night or $50 for both shows. Grandstand admission for adults will be $15 for one night of $25 for a two-day ticket, $6 for kids 6-12, and five and under are admitted free. Free camping spots will be available for drivers and race teams. Guy Norton and Ricky Alvarado won series events Feb. 21 and 22, respectively, at Canyon Speedway Park. Winners on March 14 and 15 at Imperial Valley Speedway were Steven McCollough and Paul Stone. Death Valley Raceway at Amargosa, Nev., hosts the next series doubleheader, on Friday and Saturday, May 15-16. Sixteen dates make up the series schedule.
