CANYON"S MEMORIAL WEEKEND PREVIEW
DGabbard in Peoria AZ. April 27, 2009 - Canyon Speedway Park fans at the famed stock car racing facility are anticipating the excitement! The ground pounding action is coming to the 2-day Memorial Weekend May 23 & May 24, 2009.
The ever-so-popular IMCA Modified drivers list continues to grow and includes young Arizona sensation 4tw-Tim Ward (Mesa, AZ). Ward currently leads the IMCA National, IMCA Western Region, IMCA AZ State and IMCA Rookie of the year points. Veteran racer 12-Guy Norton (Peoria, AZ) will be in pursuit of another victory after winning the inaugural WWMT-SS 2009 season opener. Current CSP front runner and point leader 777-Bo Hatfield (Avondale, AZ) and the always fast 2007 CSP Champion 14j-Jay Foster (Peoria, AZ) will be gunning for victory's. Last but not least, the hard charging Flexi-Flyer house driver and 2008 CSP Champion 5m-Anthony Madrid (Phoenix, AZ) will be in attendance.
The IMCA Modified racers will be shooting for a $1000 winner payout each day. A $50 IMCA Modified driver entry fee each day will include one pit pass and there is NO pill draw fee. Each day of the 2-day event will be completely separate shows paying a separate purse each night.
Other divisions running on this weekend racing blockbuster include the SWDRA Super Late Models, Pure/Factory Stocks, Southwest Modlites and the always fun to watch Bomber division. CSP points divisions will be racing for DOUBLE TRACK points
each day of the KDG MEMORIAL weekend at Canyon.
An open practice for all divisions will be held on Friday May 22, 2009. Gates open at 5pm and practice will start at 7:30pm. Practice costs are $10 per car, $10 per pit pass and Front Grandstand seating is FREE.
On each race night, front grandstand admission tickets are $15, Senior/Military $13 and children 12 & under are always FREE.
All access pit passes are $30 each day and are available at the back entry gate only. FREE CAMPING permitted (No hookups). Each day will see the gates open at 5pm and racing at 7:30pm. Check out the www.canyonspeedwaypark.com website or
